A House with 70’s Decor for the Now by Atlanta Designer Kristin Kong.
From earthy hues to layered geometrics to trippy patterns.
Dining room with a green color scheme.
Entry table with a Bliss Studio console against a Zoffany wallpaper.
Vintage chairs upholstered in green velvet ikat. Trim paint is Sherwin Williams Black Fox.
The conversation area includes CR Laine sofas, Pierre Paulin chairs, and a Surya rug; vinyl wallcoverings, like this one by Len-Tex, are one of Kong’s “go-to materials for durability.
Kong hid a door to the basement behind millwork painted in Sherwin-Williams Black Fox in the living room of her home near Atlanta. The eye-fooling trick “makes the room look less choppy,” she says. Some of Kong’s favorite collectibles — geodes, petrified wood, African jewelry — are displayed on the built-in shelves.
Shades of purple are layered in the bedroom. Velvet curtains, custom velvet headboard, Weitzner wallcovering and window frames painted in Sherwin Williams Plum Brown.
Traditional master bathroom in black and Earthy neutral color scheme.
